El concepto de fotomontaje o collage se origina a principios del siglo XX con el surgimiento del dadaísmo y el cubismo en Europa, movimientos artísticos que buscaban explorar nuevas formas de expresión que desafiasen las convenciones estéticas y culturales de la época. Esta técnica permite combinar elementos visuales y textuales de diferentes fuentes para crear una nueva composición de carácter unitario con un nuevo significado, el cual nos introduce en el mundo del fotomontaje como medio para expresar ideas con intenciones concretas. En el ámbito arquitectónico ha sido una herramienta de gran importancia para seducir al observador mediante imágenes creadoras de discursos, imágenes que han hecho de esta técnica una forma de crítica social, política y cultural más allá del simple concepto de fotomontaje como medio para comunicar arquitectura. Desde este punto de vista, se analizará esta técnica como herramienta de expresión crítica mediante casos de estudio donde se explorará la voluntad y la intención de estas imágenes en relación con la percepción visual del observador.
[ENG] The concept of photomontage or collage originated in the early 20th century with the emergence of Dadaism and Cubism in Europe, artistic movements that sought to explore new forms of expression that challenged the aesthetic and cultural conventions of the time. This technique allows for the combination of visual and textual elements from different sources to create a new, unified composition with a new meaning, which introduces us to the world of photomontage as a means of expressing ideas with specific intentions. In the realm of architecture, it has been a crucial tool for captivating observers through images that generate discourses, images that have transformed this technique into a way to critique social, political, and cultural aspects beyond the simple concept of photomontage as a means to communicate architecture. From this perspective, this technique will be analyzed as a tool for critical expression through case studies, delving into the purpose and intention behind these images concerning the observer’s visual perception.
