[ENG]On 23rd June 2016 the British voted on the permanence or withdrawal of the United
Kingdom from the European Union

s soon as the referendum was announced
,
the
world press immediately reported on the possible negative effects that a favourable
outcome for
Brexit
would have on the political, social and economic situation both in
the UK and in the EU. The aim of this work is to analyse the impact of
Brexit
on
tourism
as conveyed by the press. In order to
assess
whether the main negative
consequences predicted for the sector have been fulfilled
, the situation before and after
the referendum
in the
UK and the
EU has been compared
.
In addition, a
linguistic
corpus
has been elaborated
ad hoc,
with the aim
to carry out a language analysis of
the
online press articles
used in this
study
,
and determi
ne
the most relevant lexical
items
