AB - [ENG]Ensuring the efficient and sustainable use of natural resources is one of the important challenges that Europe is facing today. The improvement of the actual energy infrastructure is a must to achieve this goal. Without serious upgrading of existing grids and metering, renewable energy generation will be put on hold, security of the networks will be compromised, opportunities for energy saving and energy efficiency will be missed, and the internal energy market will develop at a much slower pace [1]. These new upgraded electricity networks are commonly defined as Smart Grids.[SPA]Asegurar el uso eficiente y sostenible de los recursos naturales es uno de los retos más importantes a los que se enfrenta Europa actualmente. Mejorar la infraestructura energética es necesario para conseguir este objetivo. Sin una seria modernización de las redes eléctricas existentes, la introducción de energías renovables se frenaría, la seguridad de las redes se vería comprometida, se perderían oportunidades de ahorro energético, y el mercado energético se desarrollaría a un ritmo más bajo [1]. Estas nuevas y modernizadas redes eléctricas son conocidas como Redes Inteligentes (Smart Grids).
