Arquitectura e ingeniería en la Central Térmica de Escombreras. Demolición de la nave de turbinas

Abstract

[Esp]La demolición de un edificio es la última etapa de su existencia. Pues, como si de un ser humano se tratase, su vida empezó cuando sus progenitores, en este caso un ingeniero y un arquitecto, asumieron el proyecto de crear un espacio para que tanto las máquinas como las personas convivieran en un ambiente seguro, útil, fuerte y a la vez agradable, aunque en un principio podría verse como industrial sinónimo de frío, oscuro y triste. Este gran hito, se consiguió, doy fe, en lo físico porque este “faraónico edificio” sigue en pie con su misma fortaleza, seguridad y luz penetrante y en lo sentimental, por medio de tantos testimonios de personas que estuvieron trabajando allí que solo expresan nostalgia de la muy buena. Ahora, nuestro deber en este trabajo será, como un “cambio de etapa sustancial” el siguiente: Primero, estudiarlo para saber cómo debe ser su final y al mismo tiempo lo vamos a homenajear, con su contextualización y análisis histórico constructivo. En segundo lugar, propondremos la mejor alternativa de demolición con un “TOP- DOWN” que sea muy exigente con su entorno ambiental, como lo fue Urrutia en todas sus creaciones y, por último, no menos importante, teniendo en primer plano la Seguridad y Salud. Finalmente, dejaremos un espacio para que vuelva a nacer otra solución energética adaptada a las necesidades actuales de energía y respeto a la naturaleza, pero conservaremos alguna esencia que nos deje presente que aquí hubo un “Templo de Arquitectura e Ingeniería”. Thus, as if it were a human being, its life began when its progenitors, in this case an engineer and an architect, took on the project of creating a space for both machines and people to coexist in a safe, useful, strong and at the same time pleasant environment, although at first it could be seen as industrial, synonymous with cold, dark and sad. This great milestone was achieved, I can attest, physically because this "monumental building" is still standing with the same strength, security and penetrating light and sentimentally, through many testimonies of people who worked there that only express nostalgia of the best kind. Now, our duty in this work will be, as a "substantial stage change" the following: First, studying it to know how its end should be and at the same time we are going to pay homage to it, with its contextualization and constructive historical analysis. Secondly, we will propose the best demolition alternative with a "TOP-DOWN" that is very demanding with its environmental surroundings, as Urrutia was in all its creations and finally, but not least, having a close-up view of Safety and Health. Finally, we will leave a space for another energy solution to be born again, adapted to the current needs of energy and respect for nature, however, we will keep some essence that will leave us present that here was a "Temple of Architecture and Engineering".
