[ENG] Vistabella neighborhood in Murcia, designed between 1941 and 1953, is a residential urban unit sponsored by the local goverment and built by application of the law of 19 April 1939 on “Pro¬tection of low-rent housing.” This new settlement occupied 9 hectares at the eastern end of the city and had, at the end of his works in 1959, 1.386 houses, a church,a market, a school group and 59 commercial premises. The project ran two decades of the history of Spain; the Forties, marked by shorta¬ges, rationing and the winners’ euphoria. And fifties, which began to overcome isolation and widespread hardship, thus promoting the social housing problems began to be addressed less innocently. The three phases in which the settlement was developed reflects the evolution suffe¬red by architectural discourse around the collective accommodation, from the rural positions on the sets of courtyard houses to a timid approach to mass housing. %K Vivienda social %K Autarquía %K Social housing %K Autarchy %K 6201 Arquitectura %~ GOEDOC, SUB GOETTINGEN
