[Eng]Flexible housing is that which is capable of adapting and modifying according to different lifestyles. Housing that is adapted and accommodated to each person, and which can be transformed to meet individual or collective needs throughout its life. The architects have experimented with the concept of fle-xibility in the housing project, proposing multiple alternatives. From a contem-porary reading, this work will make a classification of these dwellings through the analysis of three architectural strategies: the mobile elements, the fixed nuclei and the homogeneous spaces. These strategies are presented through some representative examples criti-cally selected from recent architecture that will be described and analysed thanks to the tool of the redrawing itself with the aim of defining the state and resources used for flexibility in the domestic environment. We will look at the current limitations and opportunities for configuring hou-sing adapted to society’s needs. We will draw conclusions on the question of whether flexible housing should be the appropriate model for contemporary living, or whether new architectural strategies are needed for spatial and do-mestic flexibility, incorporating new resources and technologies. These conclu-sions will support the hypothesis that the ideal housing today should be the flexible one.The change that is currently taking place in society indicates that flexible hou-sing needs to be revived and reformulated in order to obtain a changing and customised model for each individua KW - Proyectos Arquitectónicos KW - Arquitectura KW - Architecture KW - Diseño de vivienda KW - Housing design KW - 3305.14 Viviendas LA - spa ER -
