Explorando el espacio sináptico entre la obra arquitectónica y musical de Iannis Xenakis.

Abstract

[Esp] Esta investigación es resultado de un estudio realizado dentro del Trabajo Fin de Grado en Fundamentos de la Arquitectura, impartido en la Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, y pretende poner de manifiesto alguna de las conexiones existentes entre la Arquitectura y otra de las artes primarias, la Música. Para centrar aún más la temática hacia figuras y obras concretas se ha focalizado el trabajo en la persona de Iannis Xenakis, arquitecto y compositor del siglo XX. Dentro de su producción nos centraremos en la obra donde aúna en un mismo elemento diversas manifestaciones artísticas, Diatopo. Música (La Leyenda d’Eer), arquitectura (Diatopo), literatura (diversos textos) y elementos lumínicos actúan en el resultado final de esta obra. En esta relación, observamos una conexión previa entre otras de sus obras, la composición musical Metastaseis (1955) y el posterior Pabellón Philips (1959), las cuales serán también analizadas. Además, para enlazar éstas con Diatopo y La Leyenda D’Eer (1978), realizaremos un estudio de sus Politopos, diseñados en ese intervalo de tiempo. De cara a sistematizar nuestra compilación y procesado de datos teóricos, se ha realizado un análisis riguroso tanto de las obras musicales como de las arquitectónicas, para cotejar los elementos con nexos de unión entre sí que confirmen las relaciones existentes. Encontramos dos vertientes: una objetiva, las matemáticas, y otra subjetiva, las sensaciones. [Eng]This research is the result of a study carried out within the Final Degree Project in Fundamentals of Architecture, taught at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, and aims to highlight some of the existing connections between Architecture and another of the primary arts, Music. To further focus the theme towards concrete figures and works, the work has focused on the person of Iannis Xenakis, architect and composer of the 20th century. Within its production we will focus on the work that combines various artistic manifestations in the same element, Diatopo. Music (La Leyenda d'Eer), architecture (Diatopo), literature (various texts) and lighting elements act in the final result of this work. In this relationship, we observe a previous connection between other of his works, the musical composition Metastaseis (1955) and the later Philips Pavilion (1959), which will also be analyzed. Furthermore, to link these with Diatopo and La Leyenda D’Eer (1978), we will carry out a study of their Politopes, designed in that time interval. In order to systematize our compilation and processing of theoretical data, a rigorous analysis of both musical and architectural works has been carried out, in order to compare the elements with links between them that confirm the existing relationships. We find two aspects: one objective, mathematics, and the other subjective, sensations.
