[ENG]This project includes the design and development of an IMOCA Open 60, within the 2012 class rules limits. It is included a study about the hull and appendages shape which is representative of the last cutting edge sailing yacht designs. It is studied with CFD software the bow and aft volume in order to improve the waterlines in the transom, the dynamic stability and the resistance, enhancing her planning characteristics. As a result it is obtained a design that follows the most recent trends in ocean sailing hulls. It is followed the same procedure with the appendages package, e.g. the design of the keel and bulb has two objectives: they give righting moment at the same time that reduce the displacement in 1500 Kgf through foil characteristics in 15 Kn of boat speed. The appendages have been designed trying to optimize the hydrodynamic and structure resistance ratio with both CFD and FEA Software. In the end of the hydrodynamic studio it is done a comparative study between the classic wing methods and the newest CFD software, showing both tools differences. This is a very complex studio due to the modelization of a multinode model containing five appendages plus the hull. In addition to the above, other studies have been made: Structural study that includes a wing profile rotating mast with outriggers. Scantling of the hull, deck and stiffeners with the ISO 12215 rule. Design of the sails with VPP software | es_ES |
