%X [Esp]El  muro  de  piedra  ha  sido  un  recurso  estructural  básico  en  todo  tipo  de  construcciones  que debido a los avances tecnológicos cambio su función principal y pasó a serun simple ornamento. Asimismo, el muro de piedra forma parte de la arquitectura vernácula e histórica alrededor del mundo, especialmente en el Mediterráneo. Con la llegada del Movimiento Moderno surgieron fuertes críticas sobre el "Genius Loci". Es aquí cuando una serie de arquitectos se autocuestionan la potencia innegable del entorno mediterráneo en sus obras, por lo cual, y gracias a la utilización de  materiales vernáculos como la piedra y la madera, crean "obras modernas con identidad". Muestra  de  este  desarrollo  moderno  lo  demuestra Francisco Barba  Corsini,  cuyas  obras modernas evolucionan a través de la experimentación de la materialidad de sus muros. En esta investigación se presentan, como caso de estudio, dos viviendas de este arquitecto en Cadaqués, Girona.  En  ellos  se  analiza  cómo  el  muro  de  piedra  es  el  eje  arquitectónico  que  da  vida a  los proyectos. Asimismo, se recopilan otras obras donde Barba Corsini continúa, a lo largo del siglo XX, sus ensayos con este y otros tipos de mamposterías. [Eng]The  stone  wall  has  been  a  basic  structural  resource  in  all  types  of  constructions; however,  technological  advances  relegated  this  function  of  stone  walls  and  many times  turned  it  into  a  simple  ornament.  Likewise,  the  stone  wall  is  part  of  the vernacular   and   historical   architecture   around   the   world,   especially   in   the Mediterranean.  With  the  arrival  of  the  Modern  Movement,  strong  criticisms  arose about  the  "Genius  Loci".  It  is  here  when  a  series  of  architects  questioned  the undeniable power of the Mediterranean environment in their works, for which, and thanks  to  the  use  of  vernacular  materials  such  as  stone  and  wood,  they  create "modern   works   with   identity".   An   example   of   this   modern   development   is demonstrated by Francisco Barba Corsini, whose modern works evolve through the experimentation  of  the  materiality  of  its  walls.  In  this  research,  two  houses  by  this architect  in  Cadaqués, Girona,  are  presented  as  a  case  study.  We  analyze  how  the stone wall is the architectural axis that gives life to the projects. Likewise, other works are  presented  on  which  Barba  Corsini  continues,  throughout  the  20th  century,  his essays with this and other types of masonry.
