%X [ES]En  este  trabajo  se  analiza  la  repercusión  que  la  banca  extranjera  ha supuesto  en  el panorama  financiero  español  desde  la  implantación  del  Real  Decreto  1388/1978,  de  23  de junio, en 1978. Es de interés mostrar la rápida integración que este segmento de la banca ha realizado a lo largo de los años en nuestro sistema financiero y cómo en los últimos años su tendencia ha cambiado radicalmente tras los inconvenientes surgidos con la crisis financiera internacional del año 2007. Actualmente, apenas tiene representación en nuestro mercado y deja en el aire su futuro dentro de nuestras fronteras. Con este objetivo, el presente trabajo estudia  la  evolución  de  distintas  características  de  la  banca  extranjera,  así  como  aquellos sucesos  que  han  afectado  a  su  desarrollo,  para  mostrar  una  visión  de  conjunto  de  su importancia en el sector bancario español. [ENG]his  study  analyzes  the  impact  that  foreign  banking  has  supposed  in  the  Spanish financial panorama since the implementation of the Royal Decree of 1388/1978, on 23 June, 1978. It is of interest to show the rapid integration this segment of banking has made over the years in our financial system and how in recent years the trend has radically changed after the  inconveniences  arising  from  the  international  financial  crisis  of  2007.  Currently,  it  has hardly representation in our market and leaves in the air itsfuture within our borders. With this objective, this study examines the evolution of different characteristics of foreign Banks, as  well as  those  events  that  have  affected  its  development,  to  show  an  overview  of  its importance in the Spanish banking sector.
