%X [ESP] En Valencia, históricamente ha existido una larga tradición constructiva basada en el uso de revestimientos continuos para proteger y embellecer las fachadas de sus edificios. Los expedientes de Policía Urbana custodiados en el Archivo Histórico Municipal de Valencia proporcionan una información de gran valor para conocer detalles específicos sobre su ejecución, los principales materiales utilizados y las técnicas ejecutadas. En ellos se recogen las solicitudes de licencia de obra y también en ocasiones se detallan los trabajos a realizar. Por estos motivos, se han analizado un total de aproximadamente 1.000 expedientes presentados desde el siglo XVIII hasta principios del siglo XX.

[ENG] In Valencia, historically there has existed a long constructive tradition based on the use of continuous renderings to protect and to embellish the buildings façades. The expedients of “Policía Urbana” are kept in the “Archivo Histórico Municipal de Valencia” and provide information of great value in order to know specific details about their execution, the main materials used and the executed techniques. They gather the requests of work license and sometimes the future works are also detailed. For these reasons, a total of approximately 1000 expedients submitted between the 18th century and the beginning of the 20th century has been analyzed.
