Inserción de los edificios en el entramado urbano de la Cartagena romana

Abstract

[ESP] Desde sus orígenes, la ciudad de Cartagena ha estado condicionada por la peculiar orografía del terreno, fuertemente marcada por las barreras naturales que condicionaron tanto su morfología como su planteamiento urbano. Es entre los siglos I a.C. y I d.C., cuando Cartagena alcanzó su máximo esplendor bajo el dominio romano. Durante este período se llevó a cabo la construcción de algunos de los edificios más interesantes, reflejo del carácter monumental que debió de adquirir la ciudad en esta época. A través de estas líneas, se analiza la disposición de esos edificios en el entramado urbano según el planteamiento característico de las ciudades romanas. [ENG] Since its beginning, Cartagena city has been conditioned by the particular topography of the land, strongly marked by the natural barriers which defined his morphology as well as its urban planning. It is between the centuries I b.C. and I a.C., when Cartagena reached its highest splendour under the roman control. During this period was carried out the construction of some of the most interesting buildings, a reflect of the monumental character that it probably had the city in that age. Trough these lines, it is analyses the arrangement of these buildings in the urban grid according to the characteristic planning of the roman cities.
