Abstract
Nowadays, the development of home automation systems is confined to the immediate context of the solution and is platform-dependent. This has intensified the need for suitable tools to tackle their development while enhancing quality and productivity. The consideration of domain specific languages within a model driven approach stands out as an excellent opportunity for solving the problems. This video describes a novel domain specific language and a tool for home automation applications. This language provides the user with a powerful visual development environment including a catalogue of reusable functional units and a set of home automation interconnection primitives. Also, the model driven approach offers mechanisms to automatically generate code and allows us to enhance the quality and portability of home automation systems
