Turismo de eventos; clasificación, evolución y características. Impacto en las ciudades de Cartagena y Murcia

Abstract

La importancia que tiene el turismo de eventos en la economía de un territorio nos lleva a estudiar la situación actual a nivel internacional, nacional y regional. En este trabajo nos aproximaremos a las características y problemas existentes, como el descenso del número de reuniones celebradas, el aumento del IVA y su consiguiente influencia en el turismo de festivales y la desestacionalización del sector gracias al turismo de eventos en general. También definiremos las que, en nuestra opinión, deberían ser las líneas futuras de actuación en la Región de Murcia para poder beneficiarse de todas las ventajas turísticas y económicas que aportan los congresos, ferias y festivales celebrados: mejora de las infraestructuras y alojamientos, además de la necesidad de realizar una promoción conjunta. The importance that event tourism has over the economy of a territory leads us to study the present situation on an international, national and region level. Throughout this paper we will approach the characteristics and problems that exist, such as the decrease in the number of meetings hold, the increase of VAT and its resulting influence on festival tourism and the deseasonalization of the sector thanks to event tourism in general. We will also define what we think should be the future guidelines in the Region of Murcia in order to benefit from all the tourist and economic advantages provided by conferences, fairs and festivals hold: improvement of infrastructures and accommodation places, as well as the need of a joint advertising.
