[ENG] The emergence of the railway in the first half of the 19th century transformed Europe and its cities, where great passenger stations appeared to show the strength of the different railway companies. Later, with the popularization of the plane and the car, a period of decline started which brought the abandonment, or even the demolition, of historical stations. With the arrival of the high-speed rail in the last few decades of the 20th century, the need for adaptation of these great stations, together with the interest in enhancing the historical buildings and their central locations, has resulted in important transformations. %K Ferrocarril %K Alta velocidad %K Estaciones %K Europa %K Transformaciones %K Railway %K High-speed %K Stations %K Europe %K Transformations %K 6201 Arquitectura %~ GOEDOC, SUB GOETTINGEN
